Protecting and restoring the Peconic Estuary and its watershed
The Peconic Estuary Study Area consists of more than 100 distinct bays, harbors, embayments, and tributaries and includes more than 125,000 land acres and 158,000 surface water acres.
The watershed is comprised of the five East End Towns - Southampton, East Hampton, Shelter Island, Southold and Riverhead in addition to a small portion of Brookhaven Town on the western edge of the watershed.
