Host Francesca Rheannon looks at New York's Climate Leadership and
Community Protection Act, an historic climate law that puts the state
on a path to reaching net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The Act
establishes economy-wide and electric sector targets for reducing GHG
emissions and scaling up clean energy that will transform and
strengthen New York’s economy while benefiting historically
disadvantaged communities. But its implementation is being held up. We find out why.
Francesca talks with climate advocates Ryan Madden of the Long Island Progressive Coalition, Priya Mulgaonkar of the New York City Environmental Justice Alliance and Arielle Swernof of New York Renews.
Also Francesca talks with Steven Tettelbach
of the Cornell Cooperative Exchange about the catastrophic failure of
the scallop harvest this year.
